Spooky Halloween Treat
Who says you have to serve candy corn at your next Halloween bash? Posh up your party with these sushi inspired, sinfully delicious Nori Bat hors d’oeuvres…
Nori Bats
(yield: 18 bats)
1/2 tbsp wasabi paste
1/2 tbsp honey
1/2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 sheet of roasted Nori
1/2 of a ripe avocado, chopped
3 ounces cream cheese
1 scallion, thinly sliced
1/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted
Make the Wasabi Vinaigrette: In a small bowl, whisk together wasabi paste, honey, and soy sauce. Continue to whisk as you slowly pour in the sesame oil. Set aside.
Using scissors, cut the nori into 9 equal squares, about 3″x3″. Then cut each square in half on the diagonal, to form 2 triangles. Fold each triangle in half to form a bat shape.
Make the avocado filling: In a medium bowl, combine the avocado, cream cheese, 3/4 of the sliced scallion (reserve the rest for garnish), and salt. Mash with a fork until a smooth puree forms. Fill each Nori Bat triangle with a heaping teaspoon of the puree. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds, reserved scallions, and a drizzle of the Wasabi Vinaigrette.

Much nicer than peanut butter cups or mini snickers.
This is a very interesting combination of ingredients. You don’t see many recipes with wasabi, honey, and cream cheese. Looks scrumptious
