Project 2996

On September 11, 2001 almost 3,000 people lost their lives during the terrible events which occurred on that day. In 2006, Project 2996 was created in an effort to keep the memory of individual victims alive.  Bloggers were asked to research and compose memorials for each of the victims.  While the response from the blogging community has been tremendous, there are still many victims still without memorials.

Some of the victims were more than names to me.  They were people.  People that I knew.  I worked 300 feet from the Trade Center and walked through it  several times each day.   There is little reason why my own name is not on the list of 2996 given my experiences that day.

I know that the effort to remember individuals is a valuable one.  Please take a moment to visit Project 2996 and consider helping out with this effort.  Thank you.
