The National Harbor
I want to tell you about my recent visit to the National Harbor right outside of Washington, DC, in southern Maryland. It’s a beautiful waterfront mini city where you can go to dinner or shopping or pull up your boat and get a drink.
This is not a small place by any measure. There are 3 condo complexes and a townhouse community that I believe is already sold out, 6 hotels, almost 50 shops and 30 restaurants and more coming. And let’s not forget the marina. Even Disney is coming to the area. It reminded me of Battery Park City before 9/11, but nicer. www.NationalHarbor.com. It seems like a great place to spend the day and maybe even a night or two.
If you find yourself here, try McCormick & Schmick’s Famous Happy Hour menu. Prices were ridiculously low, starting as low as $1.95, and the selection is plentiful and varies depending on location. Go early if you can because it seemed like a major accomplishment to get a table by the bar. And everything is good.
