Discoveries of New York Foodies!

Visiting Abuelita in Plaza Colon

I came across an itty bitty spot that was great AND inexpensive for lunch in Viejo San Juan.  It’s inside an open loft-like store front that has a big sign outside that says “Food Court”.  It is far from your standard food court in your local mall.  The quality, quantity and price for what they give you is amazing.  And, it is authentic Puerto Rican food.  Portions are so big that the food is falling off the plate.  Two adults can easily eat from one order and be satisfied.  There  are 12 different entrees, all served with rice & beans, salad and a drink – all for a whopping $6.95.  If it was a sit down restaurant, I would so be there for dinner!

Here are some of the entrees:

Steak & Onions; Fried King Fish; Baked Boneless Spare Ribs; Red Snapper in Criole Sauce; Fried Pork Chops; Baked Chicken
