Beyond Julie & Julia
When I first began a food blog in April 2009, I was completely unfamiliar with the breadth and depth of the food blogging universe; however, I learned very quickly. There are as many types of blogs as there are bloggers. My ever-growing blog roll certainly bears this out. Some blogs dazzle with mouth-watering photography. Some intrigue with creative recipes. Others shed light on the intricacies of little known ethnic cuisines, or allow you to share a delicious meal, without the calories. Although I spend several hours per week perusing dozens of food blogs, I know it is only the tip of the iceberg.
While there are many well-known food blogs, the Julie/Julia Project brought food blogging into the mainstream. Most people consider the blog, books and movie to be a huge success. For me, a successful food blog presents the author’s passion for food in their own unique voice. Such a blog evokes the feeling of having a meal with a n old and dear friend. Translating that unique voice is not easy, but Julie Powell is not alone in taking her passion beyond the blog platform. Cookbooks and other bromographies abound. We will get to know some these intrepid food writers in a series of posts called Between the Lines.
We know that you will enjoy meeting these bromographers as much as we have. Bromography first gets between the lines with team from Picture Perfect Meals. Take a look at that interview now!

I hope that you enjoy. There are many really interesting bloggers.
Great idea for a series. I love reading other foodie blogs. They are a terrific source of inspiration and information. I especially love blogs that introduce me to a cuisine with which I am unfamiliar. Will be dropping by regularly to check out your recommended reading.

My primary focus is on non-professionals (no chefs), whose main activity has been blogging. Blogs come to my attention through online food communities such as Foodbuzz, CookEatShare and others; however, I am always open to suggestions!
Looking forward to the new series!

I hope that you enjoy it.
I love all the different kinds of foodie blogs. Everyone tickles a different reaction and part of the brain, but yet comes all together with food.
Can’t wait to see what you write.
