Sushi Anyone?

One day recently my friend and I were strolling along 7th Avenue in Park Slope and we saw a sign that said Sushi $1…??? $1??? At first I thought it had to be a typo… Sushi for $1??? What’s one dollar in the big scheme of things so we decided to try it.  I’m glad we did.

Shinju is a small, cozy restaurant located across from the RiteAid and the Barnes & Noble.  It serves A La Carte Sushi or Sashimi for $1.  There are 25 different choices, including Spicy Tuna, Salmon, Eel etc.  You can also choose from a selection of 31 Rolls or Hand Rolls for only $2.50.  Tempura Rolls are $3.50.  It’s actually a decent, clean place.  I guess they make their money on volume because it has always been pretty busy the few times I’ve been back.

  1. I can’t help but be suspicious of quality when things appear underpriced. Still, a bargain is a bargain so if it’s good like you say then what a win!
