El Cofre in Clinton Hill

This is my all time, absolute, without-a-doubt, hands-down, favorite Dominican restaurant!  It’s like my Cheers…where everybody knows my name.  It is definitely a dive.  There is no ambiance, and sometimes the music is just too damn loud.  HOWEVER, the food has never disappointed me!  It’s like going home, and almost as affordable.  An entree averages only about $8.  I have even had El Cofre cater a dinner in my own home,  and everyone talked about it for months.   I highly recommend the baked chicken and avocado salad.
